Creating a Stock Ticker Widget
Step 1: Set Up Your Watchlist
Navigate to Yahoo Finance or your preferred platform. Search for the stock you want to track and open its quote page.
Step 2: Capture the Price Display
Use Simple Widgets to select just the price section. For a minimal ticker, capture only:
- Stock symbol
- Current price
- Change percentage
Step 3: Create Multiple Tickers
Repeat for each stock in your watchlist. Arrange them in a vertical strip along your screen edge.
Step 4: Configure Fast Refresh
For active trading, set refresh intervals to 1-5 minutes. For long-term investing, 15-30 minutes is sufficient.
Advanced: Multi-Chart Setup
Create a trading dashboard with:
- Main chart widget (larger, center position)
- Ticker strip (small, side position)
- News feed widget (bottom position)
Market Hours Tip
Remember that stock widgets only update during market hours. Pre-market and after-hours data availability depends on your source.
